Riyadh, 10, July, 2024: The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) has taken a monumental step in transforming the historic region of Diriyah with a new contract worth $2 billion (7.8 billion riyals) to develop a state-of-the-art area north of Diriyah. This ambitious project is part of the larger Diriyah development plan, which is set to cost a staggering 237 billion riyals over its three phases.

The new area will be a blend of tradition and modernity, featuring advanced educational institutions, cultural sites, modern offices, and a luxury hotel. This endeavor aims to bolster Diriyah’s position as a premier destination for education, culture, and business, while also catering to tourists seeking luxury experiences.

Key Components of the Development

Advanced Educational Institutions: The new area will host several cutting-edge educational facilities. These institutions will not only provide top-tier education but also focus on research and innovation, contributing to the intellectual and economic growth of the region.

Cultural Sites: Embracing the rich heritage of Diriyah, the development will include various cultural sites. These will showcase the history and traditions of the area, providing both locals and tourists with a deep understanding of Diriyah’s historical significance.

Modern Offices: To foster economic growth, the development will feature modern office spaces designed to accommodate local and international businesses. These offices will be equipped with the latest technologies, promoting a dynamic and efficient work environment.

Luxury Hotel: Catering to affluent tourists and business travelers, the luxury hotel will offer world-class amenities and services. This hotel aims to provide an unparalleled hospitality experience, enhancing Diriyah’s reputation as a global tourist destination.

The Contractors

The DGDA has entrusted this massive project to a consortium led by Al Saif Company in partnership with the Chinese Architectural Engineering Corporation (CSCEC). Al Saif Company, renowned for its expertise in large-scale developments within the Kingdom, will lead the project execution. Partnering with CSCEC brings a wealth of international experience and innovative construction techniques to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Phases of the Diriyah Project

The Diriyah project is divided into three phases, each meticulously planned to ensure a seamless and sustainable development. The first phase focuses on laying the groundwork and developing essential infrastructure. The second phase will see the construction of the educational institutions, cultural sites, and modern offices. The final phase will culminate in the completion of the luxury hotel and the overall finishing touches to the area.

Economic and Social Impact

This development is expected to have a profound economic and social impact on the region. By creating numerous job opportunities and attracting global businesses, it will significantly boost the local economy. Furthermore, the cultural and educational institutions will enrich the community, fostering a knowledge-driven society.

A Vision for the Future

The DGDA’s $2 billion investment in the northern area of Diriyah is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil. This project aligns perfectly with the vision, promoting tourism, education, and business development.

In conclusion, the signing of this contract marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Diriyah. With advanced educational institutions, cultural sites, modern offices, and a luxury hotel, the new area north of Diriyah is set to become a beacon of progress and prosperity, blending the rich heritage of the past with the innovations of the future.
