HUBC’s Thar Energy Limited to achieve Commercial Operation by Jul-2022

Karachi February 17 2022: Hub Power Company Limited (HUBC) disclosed in its filling that, company is targeting Commercial Operation by July 2022.

86 percent project has been completed. Company further mentioned that the project has achieved a major milestone of successfully completing its main and auxiliary boiler hydro test in the first attempt, commissioning of Backfeed Engergization for TEL-500 KV transmission line and achieving 13million safe manhours milestone.

Company further share today with PSX about the progress of 300 MW ThalNova Power Thar (Pvt.) Limited. Project in Thar Block has been completed 65 percent and targets to achieve CoD by second half of 2022. The project has achieved successful hoisting of steam drum in October 2021.

Load factor of Hub base plant (a FO based power plant, located in Baluchistan) remained 14 percent during 1HFY22 compared to only 2 percent during 1HFY21. The Hub base plant generated 766 GWh of electricity during this period compared to 105 GWh during 1HFY21.

Load factor of Narowal plant (a FO based power plant, located in Punjab) remained 44 percent during 1HFY22 compared to only 24 percent during 1HFY21. The plant generated 420 GWh of electricity during this period compared to 228 GWh during 1HFY21.

Load factor of Laraib (a Hydel based power plant, located in Azad Kashmir) remained 56 percent during 1HFY22 compared to only 61 percent during 1HFY21. The plant generated 208 GWh of electricity during this period compared to 226 GWh during 1HFY21.

Load factor of China Power Hub Generation (a Coal based power plant, located in Baluchistan, Hub Power owns 45.6 percent stake in the company) remained 42 percent during 1HFY22 compared to only 68 percent during 1HFY21. The plant generated 2,488 GWh of electricity during this period compared to 4,28 GWh during 1HFY21. The load factor of the plant remained low due to transformer damage.
