As per latest trade data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, textile exports increased by 36 percent YoY to USD 1,675 million during February 2022 compared to USD 1,234 million during February 2021.
On monthly basis textile exports also increased by 8 percent.
Exports of knitwear and ready-made garments increased by 42 percent and 49 percent YoY to USD 414 million and USD 354 million, respectively. Moreover, on monthly basis, cotton cloth emerged as outperformer as exports witnessed jump 56% MoM.
In terms of volume; readymade garments, Cotton yarn and bed wear registered an increase of 21 percent, 54 percent and 17 percent YoY, respectively during the month of February 2022.
Cumulatively during 8MFY22, textile exports witnessed double digit growth of 26 percent YoY to USD 12,608 million against USD 10,000 million in SPLY.
Both, non-value added and value added segment, showed double digit growth on YoY basis, during 8MFY22.
