Oval Augaust 01 2023 : The 2023 Men’s Ashes series will go down as one of the best of all time and many former greats provided their thoughts via social media.

It was a series that had it all. With plenty of exciting close finishes, many controversial moments and an unexpected retirement, the 2023 Ashes will be remembered for some time.

It all finished square at 2-2 following England’s thrilling win in the fifth Test at The Oval and a host of former greats took to social media to express their delight in how the series unfolded.

While disappointed they failed to win a series on English soil for the first time since 2001, a host of former Australia stars were happy to have at least retained the Ashes yet again.

A special series. A fairytale ending 😍

For all of your incredible support and believing in this team and what it's trying to do, thank you ❤️ pic.twitter.com/Dhq261qMEF

Great Ashes series and big congrats to both teams for providing entertaining quality cricket. 2-2 I think is a fair result but with both teams probably thinking they should have won the series.

Just. Incredible.

Right there with 2005 as the greatest Test series of all time!! Loved it!

Well done @englandcricket & @CricketAus for the way it was played. ‘Bazball’ is enthralling. Cummins.

Congratulations Stuart Broad! 👏🏽 #Ashespic.twitter.com/d541ePkItn

Have to say one of the best test match series you could have. All test matches providing tension right to the wire. #ashes

The series also caught the attention around the world, with India great Sachin Tendulkar and experienced coach Mickey Arthur leading the way.

From being 2-0 down to drawing level, England's tenacity in this #Ashes series is a tribute to the beauty of Test cricket. The ability to rebound demonstrates the depth of character and the mental fortitude this format demands. Mother Nature might have denied us a series result,… pic.twitter.com/oOn9XgV6BC

You can't beat test cricket!
