Islamabad February 20 2025: Based on information from the Central Power Purchasing Agency Guarantee Limited (CPPA-G), NEPRA is poised to cut electricity rates by PKR 2.009 per unit for January 2025 due to the lower fuel cost adjustment (FCA).
As per CPPA’s data, the actual fuel charges for EX-WAPDA DISCOs in January 2025 amounted to PKR 11.008 per unit including previous adjustments of PKR 0.04 per unit, resulting in a PKR 2.009 per unit decrease from the reference tariff.
Nevertheless, NEPRA has established a reference fuel price of PKR 13.01 per unit for EX-WAPDA DISCOs for January 2025, following CPPA-G’s proposal.
The final decision by NEPRA is expected on February 27th, after considering input from all stakeholders and likely to be included in bills for the month of March 2025.
