Karachi May 16 2025: Pakistan reported current account surplus of USD 12 million despite 5.9 percent increase in imports to USD 5.2 billion for the month of April 2025, according to data released by State Bank of Pakistan.
This is down 99 percent when compared with surplus of USD 1.2 billion during last month due to 21 percent dropped in remittances to USD 3.1 billion from USD 4.1 billion reported last month.
During the period from July 2024 to April 2025 country reported current account surplus of USD 1.9 billion compared to deficit of USD 1.4 billion in the same period last year.
