India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s two watches worth 5 crores have been confiscated at the Mumbai airport by the
customs department.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Customs Department seized two wrist watches worth Rs 5 crores of Hardik Pandya
  • Pandya surrendered the watches at the airport after landing from Dubai
  • Earlier, Hardik’s brother was also detained for not declaring 4 luxury watches

India cricketer Hardik Pandya’s two watches worth around 5 crores were detained by customs at Mumbai airport. Pandya allegedly had not declared the two watches nor did he have any invoice for the same.

Notably, Pandya surrendered the watches at the airport after landing from Dubai. Pandya was returning home along with other Indian players after India crashed out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup group stage.

Last year, his brother and cricketer Krunal Pandya was detained at the Mumbai airport for not declaring as many as four luxury watches to Customs. The Mumbai Indians star reportedly said that he had no idea about the declaration procedure and Customs duty.

Meanwhile, Hardik has been dropped for the home T20I series against New Zealand and will have to perform in domestic cricket to earn a place back in the squad. Hardik Pandya played as a specialist batsman in the two warm-up matches ahead of the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup 2021. Hardik did not bowl again and could manage only 11 runs with the bat as Pakistan won the match by 10 wickets.
