ECC Approved Auto Industry Development Policy 2021-26 to bring FDI

Islamabad December 11 2021: After detailed discussion, the ECC deferred the summary tabled by Ministry of Industry & Production on Auto Industry Development and Export Policy (AIDEP) 2021-26, and directed to present it in the next meeting after review of the same.

The ECC also discussed the summary on Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Policy 2021-25 presented by Ministry of Industries & Production and directed to review the policy and discuss the observations raised by the relevant stakeholders under the chairmanship of Adviser to the PM on Finance & Revenue Mr. Shaukat Tarin. The proposal would be presented to the Cabinet after developing a consensus of stakeholders.

The ECC also approved the Summaries of Technical Supplementary Grants tabled by Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Interior. Earlier, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance & Revenue Mr. Shaukat Tarin, presided over the meeting of Technical Advisory Committee.

The meeting was TAC was attended by Minister for Industries & Production Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar, Minister for Energy Mr. Hammad Azhar, Federal Secretaries and other senior officers. The TAC reviewed the summaries in details and presented its recommendations to the ECC for its consideration.

Mr. Omar Ayub Khan, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs chaired a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet in Islamabad, yesterday.

The ECC Meeting was attended by Adviser to the PM on Finance & Revenue Mr. Shaukat Tarin, Minister for Industries & Production Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar, Minister for Energy Mr. Hammad Azhar, Minister for Railways Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan Swati, Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, respective federal secretaries and other senior government officers.
