Heading 2: PKR increased 0.57 percent, the highest DoD recovery after November 17, 2021
Karachi December 31, 2021: Pak rupee gained 100 paisa or 0.57 percent against US dollar on Thursday and closed at 176.51 against Thursday’s closing of PKR 177.51. The PKR has recovered 0.98 percent or 173 paisa during last two sessions.
During CY21, PKR has depreciated 9.45 percent compared to 3.12percent during CY20. During last 5 years the average depreciation of PKR against USD has witnessed at 9.78 percent.

PKR closed at highest level since December 06, 2021.
On Wednesday, the Pak rupee closed at the lowest level. The currency has weakened against US dollar due to rising pressure on external account. Country has posted current account deficit of US dollar 7,089 million for first five month of current fiscal year compared with a surplus of US dollar 1,876 million during same period of last year.
Current account balance for month of November, 2021 settled at US dollar 1,908 million compared with surplus of US dollar 563 million during same month last year.
PKR has made its low against US dollar of 178.24 on December 29, 2020.
