Consumer financing explained 87 percent of this increase as it increases by PKR 197 billion

Personal Financing Crossed PKR Trillion Mark In 2021: SBP

Karachi January 18 2022: Personal loans, constituted Bank employee loans and Consumer Financing, crossed PKR 1 trillion mark in the month of December to reach PKR 1,009 billion at the end of 2021, as the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

Consumer financing explained 87 percent of this increase as it increases by PKR 197 billion or 32 percent on year-on-year basis to PKR 815 billion as of December 2021.

Financing for house building purposes witnessed the largest jump as it increases by whopping 70 percent or PKR 58 billion on year-on-year basis to reach PKR 144 billion in 2021.

Meanwhile, Car financing in Pakistan soared to an all-time high of PKR 354 billion as of December 2021 despite increase in policy rate by 275 bps and regulatory tightening, registering strong growth of 38 percent or PKR 97 billion on year on year basis in 2021.

Loan facility disbursement under Credit Card increases by 26.5 percent or PKR 14 billion on year on year basis to end 2021 at PKR 65 billion.

Loans disbursed under personal financing head reached PKR 245 billion in 2021, increased by 12.2 percent or PKR 27 billion on year on year basis.

Loans to employees of banks increased by 18 percent or PKR 29 billion on year-on-year basis to hit PKR 193 billion at the end of 2021.
