Bestway Became the Largest Cement Player of Pakistan with New Capacity Addition

Lahore October 20 2022: Bestway Cement Limited became the largest cement manufacturer of Pakistan as its 7,200 TPD plants kicks in at Mianwali, according to company filing to the exchange.

“We are pleased to inform that earlier this morning Bestway Cement Limited has achieved a major limestone of lightening up the kiln at its 7,200 TPD greenfield plant at Paikhel, District Mianwali. The Kiln was successfully lit up at PST 9:22” says Company Chief Executive Officer Zameer Mohammed Choudrey.

“Work on our brownfield line of 7,200 tonnes of clinker per day along with 9 MWs Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant at our Hattar site is also making good progress. We anticipate that the plant will be operational by end of March 2023.” he added.

Both these expansions will take the total company capacity to 14.5 million tons and after mianwali expansion Bestway Cement is become the largest player with capacity of 12.3 million tons.

Prior to Bestway, Lucky Cement was the largest producer of Cement in Pakistan with production capacity of 12.15 MTPA.

About the company

Bestway Cement Limited (“the Company”) is a public limited company incorporated in Pakistan on 22 December 1993 under the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (repealed with the enactment of the Companies Act, 2017 on 30 May 2017) and its shares are quoted on the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited since 09 April 2001. The Company is principally engaged in production and sale of cement.

The Company is a subsidiary of Bestway International Holdings Limited (BIHL), which holds 56.43% shares in the
Company. BIHL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bestway Group Limited (BGL), (“the ultimate parent company”). Both
BIHL and BGL are incorporated in Guernsey.
