Riyadh February 1 2024: Britain announced the new electronic visa waiver system procedures for Saudi citizens traveling to Britain by extending the period to two years with multiple entries.
The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji received today at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh, the British Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and United Nations at the Foreign and Development Office, Tariq Ahmad.
During the meeting, the two sides announced the new electronic visa waiver system procedures for Saudi citizens traveling to Britain to be on an “ETA visa” instead of an “EVW visa.”
The new visa offers a validity period of up to two years and multiple entries during the validity period, in addition to costing nominal fees of 10-pound sterling.
The new visa will be effective on February 22nd and can be applied for starting from February 1st. It can also be used for the purposes of tourism, business, short study, or medical treatment.
The two sides viewed the move as a reminder of the excellence of Saudi-British ties and the continuous coordination between the foreign ministries of Saudi Arabia and Britain to achieve the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two friendly countries.
The officials also tackled bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, and they also reviewed regional and international developments of common interest.
The British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Neil Crompton, attended the meeting.
