Beijing February 25 2025: Shanghai Launch Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. (LAUNCH) and Yousuf Dewan Companies (YDC) who are pioneer electric vehicle assembly company in Pakistan, have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Beijing.

This agreement marks a significant step in bringing advanced electric vehicle (EV) technology to Pakistan and promoting sustainable mobility solutions in the region.

In the signing ceremony, Khan Muhammad Wazir, Science Councilor, and Idrees Gigi, Director Projects of YDC along with senior officials from LAUNCH marked the official commencement of this exciting partnership.

The two sides thanked Pakistan Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi and Commercial Councilor, Ghulam Qadir for their strong support to make these agreements.

This strategic partnership aims to facilitate the local assembly, distribution, and development of electric vehicles in Pakistan, supporting the country’s transition to green energy transportation, said a press release issued here.

Under the MoU, LAUNCH and YDC will collaborate on multiple initiatives, including the development of a National Car for Pakistan, leveraging LAUNCH cutting-edge design and technology expertise, establishing local assembly operations (CKD) for a range of battery electric vehicles (BEVs), including right-hand drive (RHD) and left-hand drive (LHD) models, for both domestic sales and export markets, creating a technology partnership focused on EV innovation, battery lifecycle management, and recycling solutions and exploring a joint venture for manufacturing and scaling BEV production in Pakistan.

Commenting on the partnership, an official representative from LAUNCH stated: We are excited to collaborate with YDC to introduce our world-class EV technology to Pakistan. This agreement underscores our commitment to sustainable mobility and further strengthens our global presence in the electric vehicle industry.

Similarly, Idrees Gigi of YDC added: This partnership with LAUNCH represents a transformative moment for Pakistan EV sector.
