Ismail Industries Quarterly Profit Doubles to Cross PKR 1 Billion For the First Time

Karachi October 24 2022: Ismail Industries Limited, known by CandyLand and the company of former finance minister Miftah Ismail, reported highest ever profitability of PKR 1,323 million in first quarter of fiscal year 2023, according to company filing to the exchange.

The company profitability doubles when compared with the corresponding period last year and crosses PKR 1 billion mark for the first time since company inception.

Ismail Industries topline registered growth of 54.6 percent during the first quarter to PKR 19,514 million from PKR 12,622 million in the corresponding period last year. The company gross margins increased by 350 basis points to 21.4 percent, the highest in last five quarters.

Ismail Industries confectionary, biscuits, snacks, and nutrition divisions of the food segment offers wide range of products. These best-selling patents that fall under this segment are Candyland, Bisconni, Snackcity and Ismail Nutrition.

Ismail Industries Limited was incorporated in Karachi, Pakistan as a private limited company on June 21, 1988.On November 01, 1989 the Company was converted into a public limited company. The principal activities of the Company are manufacturing and trading of sugar confectionery items, biscuits, potato chips, cast polypropylene (CPP) and Biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET) film under the brands of ‘CandyLand’, ‘Bisconni’, ‘Snackcity’ and ‘Astro films’ respectively.
