Islamabad December 17, 2021: According to the provisional figures compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics the balance of trade during November, 2021 was in deficit of 5,025 million in US dollars. The balance of trade figures cumulative from July – November, 2021 were in deficit of 20,648 million in US dollars.

In terms of US dollars the imports in November, 2021 were $ 7,928 million (provisional) as compared to $ 6,369 million (provisional) in October, 2021 showing an increase of 24.48% and by 84.72% as compared to $ 4,292 million in November, 2020.

Country imported petroleum products of $ 2,182 million during the month of November, 2021 which is the highest value of petroleum imports for any month and above $ 2,000 million for the first time.

Imports into Pakistan during November, 2021 amounted to PKR 1,371,660 million (provisional) as against PKR 1,093,545 million (provisional) in October, 2021 and PKR 683,354 million during November, 2020 showing an increase of 25.43% over October, 2021 and of 100.72% over November, 2020.

In terms of US dollars the imports during July – November, 2021 totaled $ 33,012 million (provisional) as against $ 19,468 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 69.57%.

Imports during July – November, 2021 totaled PKR 5,537,253 million (provisional) as against PKR 3,197,899 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 73.15%.

Main commodities of imports during November, 2021 were Petroleum products ($ 1,261 million), Medicinal Products ($1,081 million), Petroleum crude ($436 million), Natural Gas Liquified ($ 418 million), Palm Oil ($ 390 million), Plastic Materials ($ 298 million), Iron & Steel ($.275 million), Iron & Steel scrap ($ 275 million), Mobile Phone ($ 212 million) and Electrical Machinery & Apparatus ($ 187 million).

Based on the provisional figures of exports from Pakistan during November, 2021 were $2,903 million (provisional) as compared to $ 2,464 million (provisional) in October, 2021 showing an increase of 17.82% and by 33.72% as compared to $ 2,171 million in November, 2020.

In terms of Rupee exports in November, 2021 amounted to PKR 502,376 million (provisional) as against PKR 423,063 million (provisional) in October, 2021 and PKR 345,640 million during November, 2020 showing an increase of 18.75% over October, 2021 and of 45.35% over November, 2020.

Exports during July – November,2021 totaled PKR 2,072,512 million (provisional) as against PKR 1,599,976 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 29.53%.

In terms of US dollars the exports during July – November, 2021 totaled $ 12,364 million (provisional) against $ 9,744 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 26.89%.

Main commodities of exports during November, 2021 were Knitwear (PKR 79,221 million), Readymade garments (PKR 56,877 million), Bed wear (PKR 54,516 million), Cotton Cloth (PKR 35,444 million), Rice Others (PKR 29,203 million), Cotton Yarn (Rs.18,883 million), Towels (PKR 18,217 million), Madeup Articles (Excl. towels & Bedwear) (PKR 14,560 million), Rice Basmati (PKR.10,872 million) and Fish & Fish Preparations (PKR 9,364 million).
