Islamabad February 10 2023: Pakistan received Memorandum of Economic and Fiscal Policies along with Letter of Intent from IMF team this morning, according to finance minister of Pakistan.
He is talking to media at Islamabad. The talks will resume on Monday and MEFP help us to prepare for the talks. We have to impose new taxes of PKR 170 billion as agreed with IMF for this we have to bring mini budget for that.
We have agreed to carry out energy sector reforms and more importantly agreed to stop further accumulation of it and removal of untargeted subsidy.
The team has left Pakistan this morning but we have received MEFP this morning, he added.
