Islamabad February 7 2024: The Pakistan Elections scheduled for February 8, 2024, will encompass 266 seats in the National Assembly and 593 seats across the four provincial assemblies.

A total of 5,121 candidates, including 4,800 men, 312 women, and two eunuchs, will vie for seats in the National Assembly, while 12,695 candidates are contesting for provincial assembly seats.

In the past, the Pakistan Stock Market index has experienced a 2-3% increase the day after elections in 2008, 2013, and 2018. Investors, both local and foreign, are eagerly awaiting the election results, as a decisive victory or near-majority by a single party could lead to a surge in investor confidence, as stated by the Chief Executive Officer at Topline Securities.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) will likely emerge as the single largest party and the Pakistan Peoples Party as a distant second followed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and other parties, according to an assessment report by a government organization.

A total of 128,550,760 people across Pakistan will exercise their right to vote in this election. Punjab boasts the highest number of registered voters at 73,207,896, followed by Sindh with 2,199,769, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 2,192,119, Balochistan with 571,947, and the federal capital Islamabad with 183,029.

The Election Commission has finalized preparations for polling, establishing 90,675 polling stations across the four provinces. Special security measures have been implemented for the elections, with the deployment of the army to ensure peaceful voting, particularly at sensitive polling stations.
