Islamabad August 22 2025: Pakistan’s textile sector recorded a strong recovery in July, with total exports of the Textile Group rising 32% year-on-year to $1.68 billion, compared to $1.27 billion in the same month last year.

On a month-on-month basis, exports also improved by 10% from $1.52 billion in June, reflecting robust demand for value-added textile products.

Knitwear emerged as the top performer, with exports surging 43.5% year-on-year to $513 million, compared to $358 million last year. Month-on-month, knitwear shipments also rose 13%, highlighting its growing share in Pakistan’s textile mix.

Readymade garments followed closely, posting a 35.5% increase year-on-year to $400 million, versus $295 million in the same month last year. Sequentially, exports were up 11%, underscoring strong international demand.

Bedwear exports rose 38.3% year-on-year, reaching $296 million, compared to $214 million last July, though the monthly increase was relatively modest at 8%.

Cotton cloth also showed growth, with exports rising 1.2% year-on-year to $142 million, while on a month-on-month basis, the segment gained 16%.

On the other hand, cotton yarn exports remained flat at $56 million year-on-year, while showing a 10% decline month-on-month, reflecting weakening demand for raw material exports as global buyers increasingly prefer finished textile products.

The July figures reflect a shift towards value-added segments such as knitwear, bedwear, and readymade garments, which are driving Pakistan’s textile export growth.
