Karachi June 14 2023: PIA has completed security measures in view of the expected threat of Cyclone Buparjoy.
According to the PIA spokesperson, the impact of the storm will begin at 3 am tomorrow on airports and airways.
In view of the danger of the cyclone hitting the coastal areas of Karachi and Sindh, PIA has also organized security teams.
According to the spokesperson, Lahore or Multan will be used as alternative airports in case of bad weather for Karachi and Sukkur flights. Karachi Sukkur Karachi flight today has been canceled due to strong winds and gusts, while Wednesday’s flight will be decided according to the weather.
According to the statement, PIA has activated the Emergency Response Center in view of any possible situation which will assess the situation moment by moment. The Ramp Safety Task Force will be responsible for the safety of the equipment and vessels at the operational area.
The spokesman said that containers, trolleys, dollies, engineering equipment and vehicles running on the ramp around the runway and apron are being moved to a safe place. Parking chocks will be installed on all ships standing on the ground so that they can be protected from winds and storms.
