Karachi September 27 2024: “We have started talks with five power producers” from which we don’t want to buy electricity, Power Minister Awais Leghari says on the sidelines of an event in Karachi Wednesday.
Bloomberg reported that among operators are Hub Power, Atlas Power and Sapphire Electric Power, he says without identifying the other two.
Pakistan wants to reduce its payments to power producers for buying electricity and cut tariff, he had said in a speech earlier at Institute of Business Administration
Any decision has to be a mutually favorable outcome, otherwise it is sending a very negative signal to investors, Hub Power spokesperson said in reply to questions.
