Premier Code To Start Local Mobile Manufacturing From Next Month

PTA issues mobile Manufacturing Authorization to 19 companies

Karachi June 19 2021: Premier Code (Pvt) Ltd is expected to start its local mobile device manufacturing from July 2021.

Our manufacturing unit is close to completion and will be fully operational within the month of July 2021

Premier Code (Pvt) Ltd is one of the 19 companies that got Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Approval for the manufacturing of mobile devices last month. Premier Code is setting up their plant manufacturing/assembly unit in Karachi. The devices can be manufactured keeping in mind local requirements and customer needs.

Textile exports decline more than 20 percent during May 2021


The company is a joint venture between Premier System and JSR Telecommunication. Premier Systems is one of the oldest and leading ICT company in Pakistan having diversified exposure of Automotive and Fintech. JSR Telecommunication & IOT R&D company having presence in over 17 countries.

Country imported mobile phones of worth USD1.9 billion during the first eleven month of this fiscal year, which is higher by 63 percent when compared to imports of USD1.1 billion in the same period last year.

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics

Government of Pakistan expects that mobile devices produced by these manufacturers will not only be sold in the local market but can also be exported to other competitive markets of the region and beyond. The device manufacturing plants shall be instrumental in providing new job opportunities and low priced handsets for the Pakistani users.

The mobile phone manufacturers have to follow a localization plan which includes local packing target of 2 percent by the end of first year of operations.

By the end of 2nd year of operations, 2 percent of device chargers have to be manufactured locally, 10 percent of all mother-board and mobile batteries have to be locally manufactured, 8 percent of total manufactured display screens and 8 percent of all plastic body parts.
