Islamabad December 8 2021: The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Wednesday set provisional weighted average price of RLNG at USD 12.6238 per million British thermal unit (MMBTU) for the month of Dexember 2021. These RLNG flows will cost USD 368 million just for the month of December.

RLNG prices are decreased by 20 percent on year on year basis for the consumers when compared to rate of USD 15.6791 per mmbtu in November 2021.

However, RLNG prices are up by 50 percent when compared with USD 8.4266 per mmbtu in December 2021.

Pakistan is able to secure 10 RLNG cargoes for the month of December 2021, which is short by two cargoes when compared with December 2020 as per data published by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

As per OGRA estimates, Sui Northern network will witness gas shortfall of 592 mmbtu and Sui Southern will witness gas shortfall of 246 mmbtu during the month of December 2021.

“Power sector has more LNG available for it than it is drawing as per merit order. Fertiliser Plants that are normally shut due to non-supply during winters enjoying uninterrupted supply this year and Export sector getting stable supply” says Hammad Azhar

Pakistan will import 10 cargoes for the month of December 2021, eight by Pakistan Stat Oil company (PSO) and only two by Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL). PSO will import six RLNG cargoes at Brent slope of 13.37 percent and two at 10.20 percent while PLL price for two cargoes is set at a discount of 11.62 percent and 12.14 percent to last 3 months average of Brent.

During December 2020, Pakistan imported 12 RLNG cargoes.
