Karachi January 13 2023: Sindh government announced Saturday and Sunday as holiday for all public and private educational institutions under the administrative control of college Education Department, situated in the district of Karachi and Hyderabad to hold phase-II of local elections.
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan has said in its order of January 13 that the provincial government of Sindh violated the law by issuing a notification on January 12 regarding not holding local elections.
It has been said that local body elections will be held on January 15 as per the schedule in all areas of Karachi and Hyderabad.
The Commission has ordered the Chief Secretary and the IG to ensure a fair and transparent election along with security arrangements. While the provincial government and law enforcement agencies have also been instructed to make necessary arrangements for the elections
